Hmmm I guess I see it.  Fascism can be attractive to some people who are experiencing difficult economic conditions and may be looking for someone or something to blame for their problems. In this way, declining living standards and depression could potentially make some people more susceptible to the appeal of fascist ideologies and political movements.
