JPMorgan ChaseCEO Jamie Dimon said last week that "this part" of the banking crisis is over after America’s largest bank took over First Republic(the second-largest US bank failure ever). Later, regional-bank shares plunged on concerns over PacWest: like other recently flopped banks, it has lots of uninsured deposits (aka: accounts over $250K). Last week the FDIC proposedbroadening deposit insurance for businesses, which could prevent more SVB-style bank runs. If you know your deposit is safe, you’re less likely to panic.

since 2021 JPMorgan has bought more than 30 companies in an acquisition blitz. the largest U.S. bank is filling the few holes left in its offerings, without facing regulatory hurdles that would almost surely accompany larger transactions.

These are acquisitions that are bite-sized and span a full range from payments to big data, have applications for AI and (provide) premium customer experiences.  It's another reason Goliath is winning, t hey can go ahead and pick off forward-looking, niche fintech firms and scale them across their global franchise.
