History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes.   As of mid-August, more than 38,000 workers in the tech sector have been laid off.   The market cap of the top 30 tech stocks has dropped $4.3 trillion in the first 6 months of 2022. #The Most Important Thing

The stat on % of GDP and the gap between now and then is pretty intense. 

It also makes sense though that tech should have a “higher high and higher low” on the EV/GDP ratio as so much growth in the past two decades came from tech. 

I don’t see 5% being a realistic trough level to expect this time around for that reason, but not sure how to reasonably forecast where we might land this time. Anyone smarter than me who would take a stab at this?
