I love the Economist, but imagine being this confident on knowing what's happening with China despite being consistently wrong on it for decades...
China is undergoing a transition from a manufacturing-based economy to a service-oriented economy, marked by the substitution of low-quality products with high technology offerings. As a result, society is becoming wealthier, leading to slow macroeconomic growth.
