Lyft reported 41% higher revenue of $1.4 billion in the second quarter, far outpacing the 17% expansion in its gross bookings, a sign that the no. 2 ride hailing firm is keeping more of the fares from its business.

The company also reported solid free cash flow of $256 million, compared with cash burn of a year earlier. At the same time, though, Lyft projected slightly slower growth in gross bookings for the third quarter, of 14%, causing Lyft stock to fall 13.7% in pre-market trading.

Lyft’s gross bookings expansion was well below the 23% that its bigger rival Uber’s reported for its ride-hailing business on Tuesday.
