I'm currently in the market for a new car and the main reason I'm not looking at an EV is the technology is still evolving rapidly and we're on the cusp of a near-term revolution in battery tech compared to what we have today. As a result, any EV you buy today is likely to be essentially obsolete in 5 or so years. That means its trade-in value will crater, so you'd better like living with it as you'll be stuck with it for the long haul.
