Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO) is considering an acquisition of VMware (NYSE: VMW); Broadcom sells electronic chips and components, VMware sells cloud virtualization software. Broadcom will pay around $140 a share for VMware, a ~46% premium on the company’s close price on Friday (Shares of VMware rose almost 25% on Monday, closing at $119.43 a share). Will this deal go through or fall apart?
